Maddye Trew

Memphis-born country singer Maddye (rhymes with “caddy”) Trew has been performing since she was a little girl; a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville with a Bachelor of Arts in commercial music, she has already begun to carve out her spot in the music community with a uniquely soulful voice and cute country flair. She has loved Shania Twain since childhood, but Maddye has always insisted on keeping one foot planted firmly in traditional country, having grown up also idolizing Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, and the top of her list, Loretta Lynn. With the recent release of “Dear Loretta,” her latest single, Maddye acknowledges the path made possible by Loretta’s music and contributions. ““Maddye Trew’s ‘Dear Loretta’ is an ode to the legendary Loretta Lynn. Sweetly sung and wonderfully written. Maddye Trew has a bright future in country music while paying tribute to its past.”” — Steve Shettler, music director at KBOE 104.9-FM “Dear Loretta” follows Trew's debut release, “Only Sometimes,” which leans more to the pop side of country while exploring the balancing act of relationships and individual dreams. She then plucked her traditional heartstrings with “That’s the Lonely Talkin’,” which caught the notice of Brady Seals, hitmaker both with the legendary band Little Texas and as a solo artist. “It’s nice to hear a good waltz and some real country music these days,” offered Seals. “Maddye’s voice is authentic and sincere.” Mix in her birthday debut at the legendary Bluebird Café, an attention-getting featured performance of her cover of Patty Loveless’ “Chains” with Country Rebel (which has exceeded 163k views), and recent opening slots for Justin Moore, John Schneider, and Big & Rich … and it’s hard to argue that Maddye has come a long way since her trip to Hollywood as a 2014 American Idol Hollywood contestant while still in high school. Her next single, “Long Gone John,” is set for release on March 24. Written by Trew, along with co-writers Troy Castellano and ACM-nominated keyboardist Jeff McMahon, the song chronicles the late-night conversations among girlfriends as they band together to protect one another from another bad apple of a boyfriend. “Long Gone John” will make its official television debut as Maddye will perform on the nationally syndicated Jimmy Bowen & Friends show set to air on April 17. The light is starting to shine on Maddye Trew... and it’s only getting brighter!
